Re: Numpad Pro: Alt ASCII Character Codes in Win 11?
Yes, that is the proper procedure with a keyboard that has a numpad. TKL (tenkeyless) keyboards, such as the MX Keys Mini, do not have an integrated numpad. I prefer TKL keyboards, for ergonomic reasons, as they simultaneously allow my keyboard home row to be at the center of my desktop tray and the...

Re: DraftSight 2018
Please try the following to resolve your issue: First, make sure your SpaceMouse Compact and 3DxWare software are installed correctly and without any conflicts or errors. Second, try updating your 3DxWare software to the latest version. Sometimes, new versions of software fix some problems with old...

Re: How can using pan/zoom on MS power point & One note?
Update: Shift+MouseWheel Horizontal scrolling can be enabled in Windows for OneNote, using AutoHotkey. Additionally, one can also modify the ONENOTE-KMJ.xml file (which is created if the user modifies ONENOTE.EXE properties in 3DxWare) to assign an axis (such as Ry) to Shift+MouseWheel. https://foru...

Re: OneNote and PowerPoint
One more thing: I've found that I prefer the Dominant setting in 3DxWare for Mouse Wheel emulation. Diagonal scroll is otherwise a bit etch-a-sketchy.

Re: OneNote and PowerPoint
As for AutoHotKey in the latest Windows 11 versions (I'm in 22H2), recent Windows updates appear to have obscured the startup location that was launching my other scripts, though they still are working. I placed the latest one (calling it OneNoteHorizScroll-1.ahk, which only contains the latter code...

3Dconnexion is supported directly by a number of applications, some of which are listed here: https://3dconnexion.com/us/software/?sort-by=featured&industry=all It's generally up to the application developers to provide this support. If an application is not directly supported, Rx (vertical tilt...

Re: Numpad Pro: Alt ASCII Character Codes in Win 11?
Windows PowerToys v0.76.0 has added a feature to the Keyboard Manager: "Added the feature to remap keys and shortcuts to arbitrary unicode text sequences." This adds the ability to remap keyboard combos ("shortcuts") to other shortcuts, in addition to single-key remapping. This c...

Re: Excel Horizontal Scroll
Out of the box for me in Excel (no custom cfg): Rx = vertical scroll, Ry = horizontal scroll. Works fine. No zoom implemented, though Ctrl+Wheel would be supported - I suppose Y would be the CAD users' choice.

Re: adobe acrobat reader vs. 3DxService.exe
Does Foxit support pan for the 3D mouse? I don't see a way to do that. So far, I only see mouse wheel emulation there. Foxit does have more Zoom features in their context menu, while they're buried three layers deep in the new Adobe Reader, and also anchored to the sidebar. Adobe Reader still has th...

Re: adobe acrobat reader vs. 3DxService.exe
One other thing, which I haven't yet tried: you can try File...Enable New Acrobat Reader, or Menu...Disable New Acrobat Reader. The new one ALWAYS brings up the All Tools menu, which I don't like. Otherwise, I'm ok with the UX changes.

Re: adobe acrobat reader vs. 3DxService.exe
I'm on Win 11 build 23570.1000 (version 22H2), Adobe Reader DC latest version, and it is working fine for me in the aforementioned AppContainer. As for the title bar, it went away in a recent Reader update, and is an intentional change by Adobe, in line with a lot of other modern applications. Do yo...

Re: Lost Functionality of Modifier Keys on SpaceMouse Pro
By the way, when I customize one of the SpaceMousePro Compact buttons for Shift in Outlook, it does function as expected, and OUTLOOK-KMJ.xml is created in %appdata%\3dconnexion\3Dxware\cfg\, with the following relevant customization: <Devices> <Device> <ID>ID_ProductID_C635</ID> <ButtonBank Default...

Re: Manual ButtonBank switching?
Thanks, Jim. I usually dedicate about 4 hours a week to "process improvement", which sometimes includes stuff like this. I take it the system keyboard can't be used as a trigger in the xml files, is that correct? I currently have the SpaceMouse Compact and Numpad Pro. I was also using the ...

Manual ButtonBank switching?
I know that some applications have context support where the ButtonBank is automatically changed depending on the current mode of the application (PART, ASSEMBLY, for instance). This allows for macros and radial menus to change with intra-application context. Many vendors with multiple contexts with...
