Thanks, with your help I finally managed to enter <alt>+<esc>! now I just click the left button to begin manipulating the 3d view in inventor - bringing focus to another app. Since I'm not doing this all day long I'm ok with that... btw, I can't imagine it has something to do with network speed beca...

it does not seem to be possible to enter <Alt>+<Esc> as a custom key combination in the properties panel, only <Alt><Esc>. is it possible to enter that manually somewhere?

Perhaps i should mention that I run the whole stuff inside vmware fusion 4.1.1.
