Hi pgetchel,

Take a look at this post to see if it more closely describes your situation.

This post is about problems in the 3DxWare GUI settings, not custom button functions.

Let us know if that helps.

Hi pgetchel, I'm not sure what you are referring to here. Inventor works fine with any of the drivers, as long as you use the Inventor panel. It is true, that if you use the 3DxWare panel, there is some inconsistency in the use of some of the checkboxes in the Advanced Settings tab. Inventor works f...

Hi gforrest, HRZ and VRT refer to a setting at the top of the config file called ORIENTATION. This can be set to either HORIZONTAL (HRZ) or VERTICAL (VRT). When it is switched from one to the other the driver uses the HRZ or VRT mapping. It is switched in the GUI when you choose the "Zoom Direc...

The problem some of you have noticed with some of the settings in the advanced tab not sticking, has been fixed in the 3.1 release. This is being evaluated in QA now. It will be, at least, 3DxSoftware version 3.1.3 when it gets released. Thanks for pointing it out.

Hi Adam, I'm glad that our devices are making your computer a little more accessible. Future changes we are planning may help some more. You can save a configuration specifically for applications like notepad by saving a configuration while that application is running. Specifically, make your change...

Hi Scott, It sounds like your saved user profiles are messed up. While running Inventor, open the 3DxWare GUI (you have to do it from the Windows control panel or the desktop icon, not the systray icon) and select the default Inventor configuration. This should re-sync with 3DxInventor and fix your ...

Hi wetterberg, The 3DxWare driver doesn't (yet) support more than one of our devices attached at the same time so I can't be of much help. When we do implement this, though, I would think we would be able to get the USB bus address that each device is on and use that to distinguish between them. I w...

Hi duffy6,

This could be a saved configuration from a previous 3DxSoftware release (if you had a previous device). Open the 3DxWare panel and reselect the default Pro/E configuration while Pro/E is running.

Let us know if this helps.

We'd be thrilled to have more students using our devices. Note that we have special pricing for students and now have a $59 device specifically targeted at students. The $59 SpaceNavigator is a little bigger, heavier than the SpaceTraveler, but it works with all the same applications. It only has tw...

I don't think we've ever tried it, but it might be possible. The problem may be with the registry. There are some entries that are expected to be in HKLM. Students won't have write access to those entries. The best option is to ghost and distribute a machine with 3DxWare installed. Of course, the au...

Hi Scott, To transfer to a completely new environment you need to do two things: 1) Copy all your saved user profiles (*.scg files) from %APPDATA% in the old environment to %APPDATA% in the new environment. 2) Export all the relationships between those profiles and the application names. These are s...

From Ken: "Anything prior to version 11m3 has a bottle neck problem. It will crash if used with a USB device. The fix is to slow down the USB data rate." The bottleneck problem is a bug in I-DEAS that causes it to crash if it gets data too fast from the input device. I guess it was fixed i...

Hi gforrest, It is nearly impossible for your hand to move one axis without generating crosstalk along another axis. To eliminate crosstalk you have to use a filter of some sort. The driver provides a single-axis-at-a-time filter called "Dominant" in the App Configuration tab of the GUI. I...

Hi Mike,

Then there is only one more thing to try.

Edit the config file and change:

MACRO_MECHANISM = 0

to

MACRO_MECHANISM = 1

If that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas.
