Space Navigator + "latest available" = No Worky

Post by Bishop »

Got issued a new laptop for work and of course the first thing I did was plug in my Space Navigator and install the driver. To my surprise- it didn't work. Open up 3Dconnexion Home, go to settings- it shows the picture of the Space Navigator, but says discontinued device.

I didn't figure that was a big deal- I've got a Space Pilot Pro at home, so I'm used to the drill with using the older drivers for discontinued devices.

The driver page, though, shows that the Space Navigator should work just fine with the latest available driver. And yet it doesn't.

Anyone have any insights?

The SpaceNavigator should work fine with the latest driver (10.8.5 today).
The fact that the driver shows it at all, though greyed out, means it has detected it.

What is happening? What doesn't it work with? Does it work with our demos?

Is it listed in the Device Manager under Human Interface Devices with the 3Dconnexion SpaceNavigator name?

If you can download 3DxWare v10.8.3, use this version, or use a lower version number 3DxWare driver.
