Ansys SpaceClaim and Spacemouse

Post by estgren »

Hi
we have a problem with getting the Spacemouse to work with Ansys Spaceclaim.
Other application is working including all Ansys applications.

We use Citrix to login to Windows Server 2019.
This problem affects a lot of users so it is not just 1 user issue.

According to a user it was working 2 month ago but we have not done any changes that should affect this.
I am not a user for the spacemouse myself so I dont know if it worked or if the user mix things up because they have other system to logon to.

apparently it is working on a similar Windows 10 system and a local installation Windows 10 is working.
but 3 different server 2019 system is not working.

So does anyone have any idea what is wrong?

Now I have been in touch with both Ansys and 3dconnexion support.
neither one is willing to help.

Ansys tries a bit but Im not sure they will come up with a solution.

3dconnexion didnt want to help at all it was not their priority to help users if they use Citrix.
I think that is kind of strange, the company I work at has a lot of users in different departments that is using Citrix for there daily work with CAD.

The more I look at it I think it has something to do with Windows Server.

Doesnt anyone have any idea on what to do?

On the driver for Microsoft Windows OS at webpage https://3dconnexion.com/us/drivers,
the Supported OS:
Windows 8.1 64bit, Windows 10 64bit

So Windows Server 2019 OS is not supported by 3Dconnexion. Is the mentioned Ansys SpaceClaim part of the huge Ansys CAE suite? Can't it be installed on a client Windows OS like Windows 10 Pro for Workstation or Enterprise edition?

Thanks for your answer.

Yes Supported OS is only Single user, but the difference between Windows 10 an Server 2019 is very little so it should work anyway.
and all other application are working fine.

yes Spaceclaim is part of Ansys Fluid and Structure (Mechanical)

unfortunately we cant use Windows 10 it would require significantly more hardware
