Solid Edge V20 Screen Refresh
I am trying to use my space navigator with solid edge V20. the driver and control panel installed great. i have no problems panning and zooming and rotating. however, whenever you put your mouse over a plane, the screen refreshing is very slow. lets say i am in a sketch, and i try to dimension, I can click on the first line, however the 2nd line will not highlight, nor will a dimension appear. if i click the second line, and place the dimension where i think ti should be, and move the screen the dimension then appears. also, if i sketch a circle for example, as I increase the radii via mouse, it will display a line for every single radius. once i click and then pan the screen, all the other lines go away accept the one i want.
anybody got an idea why?

I have the same problem. Below is a list of symtoms I get in Solidedge V20 when the 3dconnexion addin is used.
1) When selecting parts in an assembly-- Click on several parts in sequence. All look selected until a zoom or rotate. Then you can see what is actually selected.
2) Will not show dims when a feature is double clicked.
3) Will not display planes consistently when show hide is used to change visibility. Once they are off they often stay off. However, if you move where you think they are you can select them.
4) In sketch, cannot see lines when drawing until zoom or pan is done.
5) In sketch, dims will not display until zoom or pan is done.
6) in both 4 and 5 there are gibberish left on the screen until zoom or pan is done.
7) Does not display new feature geometry until the next feature is started.
On replace part, the new part geometry will not show until the assembly is closed and reopened.
9) If I switch back to SE from another application the graphics window will not refresh until I zoom or rotate.
10) When editing a part in the context of an assembly the rotation point often is not near the part. Pick rotation point does not work.
All of these issues disappeared when the 3Dconnexion software was removed.
I cleaned out the registry of any reference to 3Dconnexion and reinstalled. All behaviors remained. I also reinstalled video driver and Solid Edge. No improvement was made.
Running
SE 20.00.11.06
NVIDIA Quadro FX 2700M driver 6.14.11.7687
3D connexion release 3.6.11, driver 6.6.4, firmware 3.18
Windows XP Pro service pack 2
A solution to this would be great. I work in several software packages and I am addicted to the space explorer, turning it off is too painful. However I can't get much done with the above problems.[/code]

Solution!
heey guys.
I ran into the same problem. I managed to fix my problem it quite easily though.
If you have an NVIDIA graphics card do the following:
go to Start-->Control Panel--> NVIDIA Control Panel
Under 3D Settings select "Let the 3D application decide"
Thats it!
In any case this is where you should be looking for solutions to the problem. If you cant fix it here, check the graphics settings in SolidEdge.
Good luck!!

Hi,
We have the same problem here.
We have 7 Windows XP SP3 machines running Solid Edge ST with MP5 using ATI Fire Pro 3750 Graphics cards (ati driver version 8.603) and space Navigator SE devices (3d connexion software version 3.7.12).
All the machines have exhibited the problems listed earlier in this topic at various times but in no predictable way.
The biggest show stopper is when using the quick pick feature.
It is impossible to tell which surface is selected because all are highlighted.
All problems go away when the 3Dconnexion software is removed.
A solution to this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!
We have the same here
On ~120 SolidEdge cad-workstations with an 3dconnexion device (space pilots, space mouse, traveler, at least the full product range...). On almost all workstations we have sometimes this issue
Please; if there is any known workaround or an solutions on this, let me know!
Thx, Capri
