AutoCAD 2009 quits when using SpacePilot to fast
When I use the SpacePilot with AutoCAD 2009 and AutoCAD is running something in the background, AutoCAD quits totaly with a fatal error. To minimize the losses I save after allmost every handling. But it is very iritating. Has anybody else this problem aswell? And is there a way to solve this problem or is it a bug in the interaction between AutoCAD and the SpacePilot?

Hello,
our customer has the same problem with AutoCAD 2009 and Inventor 2009. When Space Pilot is connected and beeing used they experience random crashes when closing window or saving in inventor. They had tried latest driver with no success. When they work without Space Pliot ( disconnected ) they have no problems. We did a clean install on HP WS4400 and latest driver, but the error happend again. The problem is, that the error is random, and we can not repeat it when we want, but it happens several times a day.
Users have Windows XP SP2 and SP3 installed and some of them have dual monitors connected to the PC. Graphic cards are Nvidia Quadro FX1400 and FX1500.
The thing is, that everything worked fine with Inventor 2008 and AutoCAD 2008.
Can anyone help ?

Hi Aleksander,
We do not have a release date for the service pack. Further information can only be provided by Autodesk.
We suggest customers to wait for SP1 and then check if the stability of Inventor has improved.
We also ask customers to reply here and report if SP1 does indeed address the problems or otherwise.
We understand that Autodesk is addressing a number of issues in Inventor with the release of SP1 for R2009.The thing is, that everything worked fine with Inventor 2008 and AutoCAD 2008.

I have recently purchased and installed a Space Navigator for use with AutoCAD 2008
However I find periodically(5~10 times a day) after rotating my Model using the SN when I select the next function the program freezes.
The only solution is to kill the program and log back in.
It doesnt appear to make any difference with model size as the crash occurs with simple solids and more complex solids.
We dont use Inventor so I cant install SP1 as was suggested in this post.
My workstation specs are similar to those posted in this forum
2 duo CPU, 2.33GHz and 1.00 GB Ram Dual Screen NVIDIA Quatro FX570
AutoCAD2008 with SP1
I have installed latest driver 3.6.8
When I dont use the 3dConnexion device I have no stability issues.
Can you provide any possible solutions for this???

Hello,
ACAD 2009 (no SP) on an 6600 cpu wintel running Vista SP1 and Quadro FX3500.
All systems with latest drivers, you .10 driver worsen things here on a Plus XT USB.
Crashes regularly on heavy use of the spacemouse. If I don't touch it, session runs for hours...
That's the same problem I had with the previous drivers and ACAD2007.
Looks like .08 ver worked much better (no crashes)
Will try getting the SP for ACAD and report back.
I can send the minidump or anything else if someone wants.
I find suspicious the fact that most ppl reporting problems have Quadro cards...
cheers
