LS.,
I have a problem starting the driver for my Space Pilot PE. I had this problem already with Inventor 2007 and after installing 2008 it run again for a few days and now I am stuck again.
I have installed the latest driver version 3.6.7 and choose to run the driver when starting Inventor. When I start Inventor the message "Unhandled exception occured in your 3DxWare driver session, would you like to save a diagnostics file". The blue led on the mouse turns on, but nothing happens. I can not use the mouse.
I have removed and reinstalled the driver a number of times, trying to get the mouse to work with different options. No result. I have three 3D mouses (same model) and tried the other two - same result.
I am running Windows XP Professional SP2 on a Dell PWS 390.
I can attach the dump file, but I do not see an option to do this.
Hope someone can help me out.
Thanks in advance
Frank Tax.
Unhandled exception occured - error message Inventor 2009

Dear Nuno Gomes,
Thank you for your swift reply. No there is no difference. I have setup the 3Dx software to start the driver when I start Inventor. So, when I start up the cumputer and launch 3DxWare control panel, then the leds on the mouse turn on and immediately after that the error message appears. If I then start Inventor the same happens - error - and the mouse will not work.
It was a problem when running Inventor 2008. Then I installed Inventor 2009 and the mouse worked once. The 2nd time I started Inventor 2009 the mouse problem returned.
Hope the above information helps.

I also tried starting the driver manually from the start menu before running Inventor. Same problem. The error appears when I start the driver.
I also noticed that each time I try to start the driver (over and over again) an icon appears in the lower right corner of the screen. When I tried starting the driver e.g. 4 times, 4 icons appear. They quickly disapear when I go over them with the normal mouse pointer.
Yesterday I managed to get the driver running by starting the 3Dx control panel (after trying a couple of times) I closed the control panel and started Inventor. It WORKED. Today I had the same problem. It looks like I have to try get the driver working by starting it 20-30 times. Only luck when the driver starts.
Best regards.

Hi Frank Tax,
I suggest you to make a full clean-up of your 3Dconnexion software. Instructions can be found in this Knowledge Base article.
It seems that there is something wrong with your installation of 3DxWare (the Windows driver). The issue is not related to Inventor.I also tried starting the driver manually from the start menu before running Inventor. Same problem. The error appears when I start the driver.
