Button Assignment Wirles Cad Mouse Pro on Mac Issues

Post by Dafting_R »

Hello Community

I apologise if this thread has been posted before, I just did not find it in my search. Running a CAD Mouse Pro left Wireless. Purchased in 2020. Barely Used. Firmware updated (v1.20). Computer MacBook Pro M1, OS Sequoia v15 (up to date). Latest drive installed (I do not see a version but in the driver app in preferences it says software up to date).

Simply put, when I try assign the buttons to any functions, be it assigned to "Any application" or picking a specific one such as web applications, it has not effect on the mouse controls.

by example (and I tried a few different options with different settings, returning to default after each failed attempt)
> Configure : Any application
> Button : back button
> Mapping : keystroke
> Application command : cmd + left arrow (two finger swipe left on track pad or simply OS command to page left)

No effect. as mentioned I attempted several different settings through different menu.

The only functionality that has worked is using the
Configure : SketchUp (the application readilly available on my computer) and
Mapping : Application Command

If a button was assigned by default (SketchUp config), say Mapping : 2D, the application command under 2D mapping did nothing. I could change the Mapping to : Application Command and select a predefined application command from the drop down and that did work but, any of the other mapping options had no effect.

Hoping to move away from my tried and trusty Logi MX3 and like, in principle I like the 3D mouse feel better, if I can get this functionality working, then expand to other 3D tools for modelling as I become more proficient, but I need to get my general use device working first.

Bit long winded but tried to be clear on the actions I have taken so far. I am time poor so hope someon is able to guide me to a solution.

Many thanks

With the latest 3DxWare driver versions the button command categorization for apps such as SketchUp on macOS is available in "Exported Commands".

Hi there,
It sounds like your CAD Mouse Pro Wireless isn't working as expected when trying to assign custom buttons on your MacBook Pro running macOS Sequoia. First, check if the driver has the right permissions under System Settings > Privacy & Security, ensuring it has access to Input Monitoring and Accessibility. If that doesn’t help, try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, as there could be an issue with the installation. Also, check for any conflicting software, like Logitech's, which might be interfering. If all else fails, it might be useful to contact 3Dconnexion support for further assistance.
Thanks,
Mike Taku.

Connect your wireless CADMouse either via Bluetooth or USB cable with the MacBook Pro.

On macOS 15 Sequoia, given that 3DxWare had been installed and the system had been rebooted to complete the setup, this is rather an exception for driver extensions on your system.
1)Open macOS System Settings (macOS System Settings > “General” > “Login Items & Extensions”.)
2)Click on “Driver Extensions com.3Dconnexion.dext”.
3)Activate “3DconnexionHelper” .
4)Verify changes with your Mac account password.
5)Click on “Done” to apply changes.
