SolidWorks 'Normal To' function only works once

Post by rop »

Spacemouse Pro Wireless
3DXware 10.9.0.3773
SolidWorks 2024 SP4.0

I've assigned the 'Normal To' view to one of yhe numeric buttons on my Spacemouse Pro Wireless.
But it only works once, where the button within Solidworks flips the view 180 degrees if you press it again.

And the 'Rotation On/Off' button doesn't work as expected (panning and zooming only).
At mouse input the model sort of freezes for a second and than rotates anyway.

I found a workaround. Rather than use the 3Dconnexion command for "Normal To", you change the assignment to a custom macro that is SolidWorks keyboard shortcut, which is "ctrl+8". This should get you the functionality you want. Not sure on the 'Rotation On/Off' problem though, sorry.

The latest driver didn't solve any of the problems, but this works great for the 'Normal To' funtion, thanks!

Hopefully a proper driver update soon.
