Houdini Solaris Viewport Porblem

Post by evervoid »

Hello everyone,

There is an issue I found when using Houdini Solaris.
I'm using Houdini 20.5 now, but this issue also existed in older versions of Houdini.

If I opened 2 viewports in Houdini Solaris, I can only control the one which is currently rendering.
For example, I have 2 viewports opened in Houdini Solaris, the 1st one is set to Houdini GL, the 2nd set to Karma or Arnold and is currently rendering. The space mouse can only control the 2nd viewport. I can have the control of the 1st one only if the rendering on the 2nd viewport is finished or paused.
Also, the viewport can still be affected by the space mouse after i locked it

This is very annoying in Solaris. Really hope this will be fixed.

Windows 10.
3Dx Driver is up to date.

I also have the same issue. Did you find any solution?

A potential solution is to do clone render in render gallery
But new problems come. It's not very stable, and more importantly, I can't find a way to stop rendering.
Actually this may be my preferred way of using Solaris if the issues are fixed by SideFX. Moving around while rendering doesn't make that much sense to me.
