3DS Max 9 Simple question - zoom control vs. up/down pan

This one is simple. I am using a Spacepilot on XP. I use it for Solidworks and just recently started using it with 3ds Max 9.

I want to change the operation of the Spacepilot for zoom in/out and pan up/down. In other words, the default for zoom is push the mouse in/out. I want to make the zoom work when I move the mouse up/down to zoom in/out.

Whew! Confusing description but a really simple solution I am sure.

I am able to configure it easily in solidworks, but can't do it in 3dmax.

Help.

Hi macwithamac,

You can do the following while 3ds Max is running:

A) Open Start\Programs\3Dconnexion\3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware\3DxWare\Show 3DxWare Control Panel

B) Enable "Zoom direction up-down"
