SpaceMouse buttons unresponsive in Blender
Hello, I am having trouble getting the buttons to configure with the SpaceMouse Wireless BT Edition for Blender.
I first added the application manually (it was not shown in the default config list).
Then, I tried setting the "Speed" of the SpaceMouse's axes controls to faster/slower settings... that works! So I know it's seeing/linking the Blender app.
But when I try to change/add any settings with the buttons, nothing happens. It's as if the buttons are completely disabled / unresponsive / unseen by Blender. Even the default "RM Tools / RM Views" does not bring up the radial menus as it does with the "Any Application" config item in other apps. Also, if I try to add a new hotkey in Blender's keymap system, nothing is registered when hitting the buttons (even if I have them configured in 3DxWare to act as a keyboard button press).
Thanks for the help!

Yes, I am also facing the same issue

Several threads exist regarding Blender on macOS: https://forum.3dconnexion.com/viewtopic ... er#p121982

Ah, thanks.
It appears the link is dead. We're you referring to a specific thread?

Just checking in to see if you could try pasting the link againAmroSalih wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 12:15 am Several threads exist regarding Blender on macOS: https://forum.3dconnexion.com/viewtopic ... on#p121982

Also, I did follow up with a support ticket about this. Their response was to check out this guide. However, the guide only covers configuring the SpaceMouse axes (which already work perfectly) and does not mention the buttons.
How can we get the buttons to work in Blender?
Re: SpaceMouse buttons unresponsive in Blender
I've submitted a bug report about this on the Blender Developer site:
https://projects.blender.org/blender/bl ... ues/133232
If you can please leave a comment on the report. The more users who report the problem, the higher the chances that the developers will prioritize a fix. Thanks for your help!

Re: SpaceMouse buttons unresponsive in Blender
I just got a response from support at 3dconnexion; they say it is a bug with SpaceMouse Wireless/Compact and will try to fix it in the next driver release
Also thanks for reposting the link, it works!

Re: SpaceMouse buttons unresponsive in Blender
Hello, I just installed the new driver software released yesterday that included changes for Blender and SpaceMouse Enterprise version.
I have the SpaceMouse Wireless BT Edition, and the button issue persists with this hardware. I think any updates they did to 3DxWare and/or Blender must have been specific to SpaceMouse Enterprise and did not address other SpaceMouse's like the Wireless BT Edition.
I will follow up with support.

Re: SpaceMouse buttons unresponsive in Blender
I also installed the driver yesterday but did not test it yet.
You do not only need the driver but also a Blender version that supports the new NDOF configuration.
Which is likely not for latest official Blender 4.3 from December 2024.
And so far I could not see any NDOF settings update mentioned in any change logs.
Not sure if 4.4 got it before it went to beta state lately, so no more changes, only bugfixes.
So I hope for 4.5 Alpha, but have to test that.

They may be preparing a separate update for Wireless BT.llealloo wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 4:00 pm Hello, I just installed the new driver software released yesterday that included changes for Blender and SpaceMouse Enterprise version.

Re: SpaceMouse buttons unresponsive in Blender
My SpaceMouse Wireless BT Edition became unresponsive this morning. I am not sure if it was caused by the update, but the device appears to be bricked. This is the message I sent to support:
Sadly, my SpaceMouse Wireless BT Edition stopped working today. I can not get it to turn on/connect/show LED lights. It is totally unresponsive and will not accept charge.
Preface: I have been having some USB issues over the last month on my mac laptop:
- macOS lockscreen would repeatedly flash on when the screen would attempt to sleep, it seemed like a USB device kept waking up the computer
- macOS notifications began to appear about 3 days ago "USB device disabled for drawing too much power"
I installed the latest update for macOS: 3DxWare 10.8.7 2 days ago, and the device continued to function same as before.
Then today, my SpaceMouse Wireless BT Edition became unresponsive.
I have tried:
- plugging in SpaceMouse with included usb-c cable to different computer (PC - Windows 11)
- plugging in SpaceMouse with different [known working] usb-c cable to different computer (PC - Windows 11)
- plugging in SpaceMouse with different [known working] usb-c cables to the macOS computer
- plugging in SpaceMouse with different [known working] usb-c cables to various [known working] usb charging bricks (no lights showing charging)
Sadly, it seems like my device has had an internal hardware failure with its USB controller or charge controller, or maybe it has become "bricked" by the recent update?
