Sketchup and Navigation Mode Switching

Post by jwnola »

I'm hoping someone here has a solution/workaround for this continuing issue that I have using my Space Mouse with Sketchup.

Whenver I open Sketchup on Mac, I have to open the System Settings, scroll down to the 3DConnexion preference, select Sketchup from the 'Configure' pulldown menu, click the 'Navigation' tab, and then change the 'Motionmodel' to 'Fly' (my preferered control method).

There used to be a way (on Mac) to assign the 'Motionmodel' setting to a button on the Space Mouse which would at least allow me to change it quickly in Sketchup without having to jump through so many hoops in the System Settings. I haven't seen this option in years. It would also be helpful to have the 3DConnexion settings remember the last setting that was used for Navigation.

Does anyone have any options or workarounds for this issue? Is 3DConnexion going to bring back the option to assign this to a button which it seems that they have done on Windows?

I'm running the 3DxWare 10.8.7 on Mac OS 15.3.2.

Thanks!
