Return Key Unavilable

Post by TimW »

Hi,

I have reprogrammed the "R" button of my SpacePilot to function as a return key in SolidEdge. I have used this configuration for several years now, but lately I find that I get a "Return Key Unavailable" message on the unit when I try to press the return key.

I updated the drivers recently and am suspicious if this has something to do with it.

If I reconfigure the R key for the return key it works for a while, but eventually stops working again.

Any suggestions? I am at a total loss without this function!

Hi Tim,

Which version of SolidEdge and 3DConnexion software do you use? Please try the following:

A) Start SolidEdge
B) Open a part
C) Reprogram your "R" Key and verify it works
D) Save the configuration
E) Exit SolidEdge and reboot
F) Start SolidEdge again and open the same part as before

Is the "Return"-function still working after these steps?

Hi,

Thanks for the response.

I am using SE19 and have downloaded the latest drivers for the SpacePilot. It seems to have started occurring after I downloaded those drivers.

I tried what you suggested and it is still doing the same thing. According to the Config, the key is programmed for the Return Key, but is does not work.

I used this configuration for 3 years now and have a hard time working without it.

Hi again,

I should also mention that I have reprogrammed the ALT key to work as the delete key using the same technique and have been doing so for several years. This key seems to function fine, its only the "R" key programmed to the RETURN key that is giving me an issue.

Tim,

Try removing your saved profiles and then recreate your button mappings. you may have a corrupted saved profile.

This is the path the profiles are saved to:
C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Application Data\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\profiles

The files have an extension of .scg
