space mouse horizontal lock

space mouse horizontal lock
Does anyone else have this issue?
The software keeps defaulting to the locked position and I have to manually unlock it every time I want to use the mouse.
I just updated to the latest driver and it still does it.
To say it is a huge nuisance is an understatement.

Re: space mouse horizontal lock
Does it happen with a specific application? If so, which one?

Re: space mouse horizontal lock
It happens in fusion360 pretty much every time I open the program.
On top of that it's trial and error to get to the menu to uncheck horizontal lock.
From the research I've done this has been a long time unresolved issue.
I'm running windows 11 home.

Re: space mouse horizontal lock
I'm collecting information on how the "Lock Horizon" options behaves in Autodesk Fusion.
In the meantime -- and if you can, please check if the same option works as you expect when using the "3Dconnexion Viewer" (the 3D model viewer that opens with a jet turbine).

works like it should in 3Dconnexion Viewer.ngomes wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 11:48 amI'm collecting information on how the "Lock Horizon" options behaves in Autodesk Fusion.

Thanks. We appreciate you taking the time to confirm.
We're not sure yet what is going on but we have observed the issue you reported on a specific test machine. We will need to look further to confirm. Currently, we do not have an explanation why it would work for some programs but not others and on some machines but not others.

I don't mind at all. I absolutely love my mouse.ngomes wrote: ↑Thu Dec 04, 2025 2:51 amThanks. We appreciate you taking the time to confirm.

One thing I've noticed a couple of times with fusion open is I'll open the control panel for the mouse, go to settings, hit the advance button and get the window where you can adjust settings and move the mouse joy stick around a bit, the menu window that has the lock horizontal setting opens.
It's the only way I can get to it.
Re: space mouse horizontal lock
an update.
this issue seems to be fusion360 specific.
the mouse works as designed when I use it in my bambu slicer program but when I try a horizontal move in fusion it won't..it locked out the horizontal tool like it does every time I open fusion360.

Users reported that 3Dconnexion SpaceMouse does not work as expected in Fusion on a Windows computer. One or more of the following may occur:
Orbit, pan, or zoom does not work as expected.
The joystick functions do not work.
Unable to rotate or orbit in sketch. The camera autorotates and locks the view.
The left mouse button doesn't work when Fusion is turned on.
Cannot rotate or tilt in the 3D PCB editor after installing SpaceMouse driver update.
3D mouse always rotates the model around a distant point.
The screen jumping around during a rotation of the model.
Lacking the roll and tumble functions.

Re: space mouse horizontal lock
I just came here to post that I changed from the latest driver to the legacy one and it worked.

Re: space mouse horizontal lock
Well
I updated the software to the latest version and now it's worse.
I have to go to the mouse settings and hit the restore defaults to get it to do anything.
It freezes up in fusion and in the bambu slicer program now.
It will move the model a bit then stops responding to everything.
This is getting extremely frustrating for a mouse we pay big money for.

Re: space mouse horizontal lock
I contacted 3Dconnexion regarding this and they provided me with this link to fix the horizontal lock and freezing problem.
https://www.autodesk.com/support/techni ... n-360.html
my problem is
A. where do I find the camera settings?
B. I can't get to the "other" menu either.
C. When I first turn the computer on I have to pair the mouse as something is unpairing it.
Anyone else have this issue?
