DavinciResolve support

Post by anaka »

Hi guys Davinci Resolve is even more popular software but i see that there is no interest on support it from 3dconnexion
i'd really like to use the spacemouse joystic to scroll the timeline and be able to configure it to do other custom operations in the various parts of davinci...i see that there is just a timid support for fusion but it is very limitated and the rest of the software remains unsupported

is there someone that has the same whish? did someone found the way to configure davinci to woek well with spacemouse?

thanks in advace for any help

Davinci Resolve is not a 3D program, so it is not officially supported. But one can edit the xml file for Resolve and add some lines to map the rotation of the puck to key commands. For example, rotation right to right arrow key, rotation left to left arrow key. It is also possible to program a progressive function, to have the playhead in Resolve move faster when the puck is rotated more.

However, there are often downsides when using key commands. When a certain part of the software is not in focus they mey not work, or they may not work in all tabs.

I have configured my Space Mouse Enterprise buttons for usual key command in Resolve, but for transport I prefer the Blackmagic Design Speed Editor. The Speed Editor works in all tabs, and the software doesn't have to be in focus. It's a much better solution.
