Space Pilot Pro Mastercam 2026

Post by kevintactical »

Is anyone else having issues with a space pilot pro and mastercam 2026? My view and fit buttons do not work. I got a new computer and updated mcam 2026 at the same time. I downloaded the latest driver and it would not show icons on my lcd screen, I contacted support they said to roll back to 10.7 which I did. Still no icons, and the views and fit still do not work. The views/fit work fine in solidworks 2025.

Support has not responded to my last 2 emails, and trying to call in it just told me they couldnt connect me at this time.

Just ask your employer to upgrade the 3Dconnexion device as well, upgrade SpacePilot Pro to SpaceMouse Pro or SpaceMouse Enterprise. The price is only a small fraction of the new computer, MasterCAM 2026, SOLIDWORKS 2025 software subscription fee.

I'm sure your employer can cover the 3Dconnexion device hardware upgrade cost.

SOLIDWORKS Design Standard 2820 $2,820 USD/year
SOLIDWORKS Design Professional $3,456 USD/year
SOLIDWORKS Design Premium $4,716 USD/year

Very insightful help. The issue is I do have a spacemouse pro now as well, and I have the same issue with the view and fit not working in mastercam 2026.

Probably you need to upgrade to MasterCAM 2026 R2. If this software upgrade still fails to solve your issue, then the actual problem is on Sandvik's
CNC Software, LLC's side, ask the software vendor to better implement the 3DxWare SDK v4.x into MasterCAM.

From Mastercam, released on Feb 12th 2026:

Cause
We updated to the latest SDK from 3Dconnexion that contains a “New Library” / New Functionality. With the change to the new SDK, 3Dconnexion are responsible for releasing a new driver that has all of the Keymapping’s. We do not have a date when a new driver will be released, but we are hoping it will not be very long.

That's a sad story. MasterCAM bears the blame.

Well I just installed 10.9.13.740 and the standard views that are built in to 3Dxware for Mastercam 2026 still don't work right. Updating to this release makes 3dxware see Mastercam as Mastercam X now instead of Mastercam NL like it was before. What is currently happening is that when I select top view (well any of the built in views honestly) with my SpaceMouse Enterprise sometimes my graphics view toggle will show the toggle on the correct view, but the T/C planes stay where they were and other times the T/C toggles move, but the gview toggle doesn't yet the view actually changed in Mastercam.

With version 10.9.12 it still did this, but it wasn't all the time. It went non functional when I went to the latest drivers.

The only way I've found around this is to create new macros for all of the views and map them to the respective buttons. Then my planes always move with my view and all of the toggles move as well.

I also just updated to Update 1 for R2 for Mastercam on Monday and that seemed to wreck some things as well.

Maybe 3Dconnexion need to update C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\3DxWinCore\Cfg\Mastercam.xml or CNC software needs to download the Windows 3DxWare SDK 4.0.6 to adapt for new APIs.

I don't know who needs to fix what, but it's been a s**tshow with Mastercam 2026 and 3DConnexion that I have never had to deal with in the 15yrs I've been using a 3DConnexion device with Mastercam (Been using Mastercam on and off for nearly 30yrs).

Mastercam has gone down hill in my opinion the last 5yrs or so, especially since being bought by Sandvik and the consolidation. It's horrible. They are more concerned with pushing out new features (that rarely work perfectly) then they are with fixing problems that have been out for years.

It's frustating to say the least.

Talented software developers are flocking to IT giants like alphabet/Google, meta, Microsft... few go to manufacturing software companies...
