SpaceMouse Jekyll & Hyde

I have a situation where the sensitivity of the spacemouse seems to jump between two settings

A calm (normal) Jekyll setting where the sensitivity of the knob is fine / expected
and a spastic (hyper) Hyde setting where the sensitivity of the knob is very fast / jumpy / annoying

It often happens as I bounce back and forth from Fusion to Chrome (slack/etc)
Some of the bounces are Jekyll ....
some of the bounces are Hyde

Any thoughts on how to fix this?
