Spacemouse Plus Configurations Keep Resetting

I'm having a problem with the configurations resetting in Solidworks 2008 (64 bit). I realize that the buttons re-map according to whether your in Part, Assembly or Drawing modes, but it doesn't seem like there's any logical way as to when it changes back to the defaults. Can anyone provide any insight? The only consistency I have is to save multiple configurations, and try to keep overwriting what I'm currently using with a master config I never use. I've searched the forum a few times and can't find anything.

Here's the system specs:

Windows Vista 64 (Business?)
Solidworks 2008 SP4 (64 bit)
3dConnexion release 3.6.8, Driver 6.6.1
Spacemouse +

Where are you mapping your buttons?
Choose the button mapping panel from the 3DControl panel bar to open up the button editor.

I'm mapping the buttons from the 3D Connexion Control Panel (from Windows), usually when I have Solidworks open. The same buttons (with customized commands) show up from the button mapping panel in Solidworks, but I don't see where to save the configurations from that panel. Is it simply that when you start Solidworks, it's trying to load a default configuration?

This is the default panel.
Go to start programs
3dconnexion 3dconnexion3dxware
click on open 3dcontrol panel.

Next with Solidworks open look for the 3dcontrol toolbar click on the icon to open the control panel.

This button mapping panel should be different than the above panel.
This one is where you map the buttons for each mode. It will overwrite the other control panel.
