Can't save settings in adobe acrobat

Post by Razzack »

Hi,

I have just got a Space Navigator SE and I can not get the settings in Adobe Acrobat Standard to save. I have checked and I do have the plug in for Adobe reader. But this entire thing about having to save in one place and not the other and one over rides the other is very confusing to me. All I want to do is whenever I open a PDF in adobe I want to have MY settings loaded every time. Is this too much to ask of a mouse or am I misunderstanding how the Space Navigator should work?

Thanks
Bryan

'Automatically Save Configurations'

Post by Bryan »

Hi Razzack,

I'm not quite sure which settings you are talking about, nor which version of the 3DxSoftware Suite you are using, nor what operating system, nor which version of Adobe Acrobat, but if you are able to open the 3Dconnexion Control Panel, you may want to double check under the 'Options' Menu and make sure you have 'Automatically Save Configurations' check on.

Sincerely,
Bryan

Sorry about that.
I am running windows xp with adobe acrobat 8, I have the latest drivers for a SN SE (I dont know which "3DxSoftware Suite" I have either), The settings I am talking about are anything that you can customize in the control panel, configurations, buttons, custom mapkeys, ect. None of it seems to save. In fact I think it might be getting worse, it seems to be reseting to the default configuration while the application is still open. And yes the 'Automatically Save Configurations' is checked.

Thanks for the quick response!

You may have a corrupted profile.
This is the path the profiles are saved to:
C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Application Data\3Dconnexion\3DxWare\profiles

The files have an extension of .scg
Delete any saved profiles,
Next recreate and save the button mappings.
