I use SN in 3dsmax 2009. It is not switching back to Perspective anymore.
Untill now, when using SN in perspective view, it temporarily created "3DxStudio Perspective", and after release SN, it returned to normal Perspective View.
Now it remains locked in "3DxStudio Perspective". If I flick it slightly with finger, sometimes it works and returns to Perspective. While locked in "3DxStudio Perspective", left button is not working.
I updated, and removed/reinstalled drivers, and tried it on another computer. Problem remains.
Is it a physical failure? It seems as if it is not properly returning to "zero position". Is there a way to adjust "zero position" sensitivity?

Mine started working by itself. But I was able to recreate error while slightly holding SN and hitting calibrate.
It seems, that if you hold SN while calibrating, you can actually calibrate if wrongly, to some out of center position. An then it remains offset out of zero position, and doesn't work properly. I must have hit calibrate once while holding SN, so it calibrated itself to wrong position.
Yes, calibrate may solve this. THNX big time.
Strange to me is, that when it didn't work, I tried it on several machines, and it didn't work on all of them. Is calibration connected to hardware? If yes, that would explain why it didn't work on other machines. But if it is software related, then my problem with SN may return back.
Anybody knows if calibrate sets hardware, or just software settings?
Hi gnd,
The SN software calibrates every time the driver starts. This means if you touch the device while starting the driver/hitting calibrate the actual position of the cap is assumed to be zero. If you then release the cap - models will start drifting.

This is great info. It is exactly as you described it. It is clear now. Thnx. I'm glad my SN is not broken.rstadie wrote:Hi gnd,
