SN PE not working with Solidworks

Post by HellsHavoc »

Ok,
I will start off by saying if this is mentioned in a previous post i am sorry for the repeat. I tried to look at as many threads as i could before makeing on, but a man can only look for so long. So i hope yall understand.
First off let me inform on what machine i am running;
Custom Built MSI MoBo NEO-P43F
Intel Q6600 2.4ghz (OC'd to 3.5ghz)
4 Gigs OCZ 1066
Nvidia 9600GT (ATI Burnt)
MS Windows Vista HP
Solidworks 2008 Pro.

Ok anyway, I have recently purchased a SN PE for the sole purpose of using such a device in Solidworks. Got mouse in and it works perfect, Google Earth, Adobe CS4, AutoCad, everything....CEPT Solidworks.

So i went online and dl'ed most recent software and such and updated accordinlingly. Still, does not work in Solidworks. So I uninstalled Solidworks and reinstalled, still does not work.

One thing i did notice is when i open up the 3dware software and click "Check Updates" it goes through all drives "Validateing" then at the end gives me the error " Software could not be validated at this time try later". If anyone could help me out with this please let me know cause its kinda frustrateing. Also if yall need anymore information let me know. Thanks to all that help.

Error 1603 : A fatal error occurred during installation" error message when you try to install a Windows Installer package.

You may have had some feature of Solidworks running when the dirver attempted to install.

Make sure the 3d driver is running
Open solidworks
click on file Open
change file type to all files.
browse to the following location:
C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware\3DxSolidWorks
Choose TDxSW.dll
click open
This should load the plugin.
