It's not that every individual programs needs a plug-in, it's that the developers of an application need to have made the decision to include use of our device in their user interface. On our web site we have made a list of all the applications that we know of that do make use of our device. You will find this listing under the 'Solutions' Menu. Currently I am not finding Pitney Bowes MapInfo listed as an application that makes use of our device. If you envision ways use of our device would be a valuable addition to their user interface, I would recommend sharing that with their developers so that they may consider including that use in their next development cycle.

Isn't that the same as what I said: "Sorry to say I did not know it needed software for every individual program."
I don't care if it's called an "application", a "plugin", a "sub-routine", or whatever. The Space Pilot does not work with a 3 thousand dollar program.
I will take your advice and let them know how I feel and hope they include this in their next release...
But at 600 to many thousands of dollars, their releases are far apart and I don't care to spend another 3 grand just so my Pilot works.
I would prefer "SOMEONE" (most likely the people that MAKE the Space Pilot, since THEY have a bigger interest in selling them) come up with a way to make it work with my existing program.
You are correct in the fact that I (like many others from what I read) was confused as to the "nature" of the Space Pilot; I ASSUMED it was simply a joystick type of thing that would work in 2D as well as 3D.
All I want it to do in "MapInfo" is: move North, South, East, West; and Zoom in and out.
The makers should REALLY remove the part in their "advertizement" that says it works with IE Explorer! As it does NOT. It works with some programs embedded in IE, but NOT with IE itself.
I am having FUN using it with Google Earth, but it is no wonder that so many people are reselling these $400 units for 99 bucks on eBay.

Could you point me in the right direction to begin the tiedious process of learning how to "write" plugins (or whatever I will need to make this thing work for MYSELF).
