Turn SN Settings 90 deg.

Post by harnstein »

Hello there,

is there any special software that let me define the orientation of the SN?

I want to turn my SN around 90 degrees, so i can use the two buttons without totally twisting my arm... but therefor i have to change the axes, too, otherwise i move left instead of forward!

I hope you understand, what i mean ;)

It is possible to reorient the axes. It is a bit of work. You can't do it through the GUI. You have to edit the .scg file for your app. This post describes the possibilities.

doesnt seem to work for my problem.

if i understand this thread right, it allows me only to swap the axes.

but i need to turn every axis but the z axis around 90 degrees...

(probably the spin-axis could stay like it is now, too)

You want to map the +X axis into the +Z axis and the +Z axis into the -X axis etc. For translations and rotations. The Y axis is the up/down axis (perpendicular to the desk). That is the one you don't want to change. It's going to take some experimentation on your part to get it to whatever it is that you want. Do one DOF at a time or you won't be able to keep track of what you are doing.

thanks,

but i'm still not getting it. i cannot find the user, user01, user02.scg files. when i use the control panel to save different configurations for different softwares (eg "my-sketchup") and hover over the taskbar-icon, it says
"3dxWare für my-Sketchup (user01.scg)". but i can't find the file anywhere.

changing the any.scg file didn't bring up any results. there are many any.scg's in different language folders- it says, the one in the french folder is the newest, but even changing this file has no effect.

why does computer-stuff always have to be so tricky... ?! ;)

Your userXX.scg files are saved under:
%appdata%\3dconnexion\3dxware\profiles

(Type that into Windows Explorer, including the %s)
