Space Navigator Lost After Cold Boot

I have had this problem for a while now. I install the software package and connect the Space Nav and all works perfect. If i just restart the computer it is fine (Start, Turn Off Computer, Restart). However, if I shut off my computer and turn it back on (Start, Turn Off Computer, Turn Off) the 3d mouse is not found. In order to get it working again I must uninstall, unplug, restart, reinstall software, and plug back in. I was using a Space Traveler prior on the same system before upgrading to the Space Nav and never had this problem. No new hardware has been installed, no new software has been installed. It just simply started doing this. Any ideas???

Occasionally, the plug and play portion of the operating system may have a difficult time discovering our device. I would recommend just unplugging the device for a few seconds and the plug it direct back into the computer while holding down both buttons on the Space Navigator. Then access the Jet Demo. (Start, 3dconnexion, 3dconnexion 3dxware, demos) Often times this will be all you need to do. The device will be discovered and you can easily test in the Jet Demo.

Thanks for the tip. I tried it and it WORKED!!! Also just to add another workaround to the mix if I shut off the computer and pull the power plug off the back, wait 5 seconds, plug it in and boot it works also.
