How to Stop 3DxWare From Loading on Bootup

Post by tightwoods »

Spaceball 5000/USB, Driver 6.7.11, Inventor R8, WinXP

Can I configure 3DxWare to start only when I open Inventor, not as soon as my PC boots? Thanks.

Hi tightwoods,

you can remove the start of the driver from the "Startup" folder. Then the driver is not started when you log in. You then have to start the driver manually before you start Inventor. I would suggest to create a script that first starts the driver and then Inventor.

Hi tightwoods,

I recently learned that Inventor is using a feature that automatically runs 3DxWare when Inventor is started. This means if the driver for the 3D mouse is not running, but installed, it will be invoked by Inventor when it starts.
