SpaceBall 5000 works in Inventor, but not SolidWorks?

Post by mrlegoman »

SpaceBall 5000 USB
Windows XP x64
SolidWorks Pro 2007
AutoDesk Inventor 2008

Installed latest driver release 3.7.16

SpaceBall works great in Inventor and Demo programs. But does not work in SolidWorks.
"3Dcontrol Toolbar" does not load in SW.
I've check the driver install and, yes, the SW x64 driver box was checked.

In SW, I've gone to Open>
C:\Program Files (x86)\3Dconnexion\3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware\3DxSolidWorks\TDxSW.dll
And nothing happens.

Tried doing a search in the forum for similar problems but with no luck.

Any suggestions?

Figured it out:

You have to manually activate the 3Dcontrol Add-In under:
Tools>Add-Ins...

Set 3Dcontrol to active on "Start Up".
