Basic Mouse Pointing with Space Navigator?

Post by chriselkins »

I got a Space Navigator thinking I could use it as an alternative from my regular mouse to help alive some pain I'm getting due to repeated mousing all day. Can't this thing be set to use as a basic mouse pointing device? (XP SP3) It would also be great to be able to use it for scrubbing time lines in Vegas and other video and animation programs.

Any easy fix for either of these?

Thanks,
Chris

Application Use of 3Dconnexion Devices

Post by Bryan »

Dear chriselkins,

No, I am afraid not. The normal paradigm within the user interface of a program that uses our devices is to use our device to manipulate their display of a three dimensional object while continuing to access commands and draw lines with the regular windows mouse.

Under the Solutions menu on our site you will find a list of the applications that we know of that make use of our device and that may have received certification testing.

The behavior within an application would be determined by the developers of that application. So if you can envision a use of our input device in an application, say, as you were mentioning in Vegas, you should contact them and let them know the value added you would find if they should include that as a feature of their software.

Sincerely,
Bryan
