CATIA R19 - Buttonconfiguration

Post by LordBadHabit »

Hi all,

I asked this question also in the german forum, but it seems that the english native speakers are the majority here :D

My problem:

In all CATIA releases (16,17,18 ) I can configure all of my buttons directly in the CATIA 3dfx plugin.

But in release 19 the buttons "Panel" "+" "-" and "2D" of my SpaceExplorer are missing.

I updated to the newest driver and softwareversion but it didn´t make any difference. Is this a problem of CATIA R19 or a spacemouseproblem?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Best regards,
LordBadHabit

Catia is natively supported.
You should contact them and let them know so they can make adjustments in their software to fix it.

Hi LordBadHabit,

as far as we know there was no change in this. Even in previous versions it was not possible to map the above mentioned buttons in the 3Dx Catia button mapping panel. I still need to verify, but at this moment we only have the latest version of Catia (R19) installed in our lab. Please give me some time to check and I'll let you know if the 3Dx mapping window changed for the SpaceExplorer.

And ... yes, Fred is right: if there is a problem with this or if you want a change for this feature you need to address this with the editor of Catia, with Dassault.

I'll post here when I have more information.

Hi Uta Ludwig,

we´re using all Releases from R16 to R19 and I can definitively say that it was possible to configure that buttons in all releases older than R19.

Thanks in advance for your efforts.

Hi LordBadHabit,

I could finally check at least with V5R18. When I first installed it, Catia did recognize a 3D mouse, but not specifically the SpaceExplorer. This is why you had all buttons available in the mapping panel. But after I installed ServicePack 8 for R18 Catia knows the SpaceExplorer and does what is implemented per design: it offers only those buttons to re-map that are supposed to be changed.

Thank you very much for testing

Then it´s not a bug it´s a feature...hopefully my users will accept this reason

Thanks again for the nice support.

Hello,

we have the same problem under R19. There is no way to configure the "+" and "-" button with catia- or userfunctions.

But it was possible under R16. So we already have experiance with these shortcuts and need the same function in the future again.

Hope the software will support under the next hotfix.

Best wishes

Hi danielmetz,

as mentioned above: this is per design. If you want this to be changed you should address it with the manufacturer of the software, with Dassault.
