Sketch Up Center Rotation Menu Option Grayed Out

I am trying to use my Space Navigator with Sketch Up 7 Pro. The center rotation menu option is grayed out on both the 3DxSketchup toolbar and on the plugins pull down menu.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Space Navigator software and confirmed it is the most recent version and the symptom is still the same.

Does anyone have an idea as to what is wrong?

If any other SU users out there have suggestions for best practice configuration for a Navigator newbie I sure would appreciate their suggestions.

I got help from a fellow user on the SketchUcation forum. Apparently all that needs to be done is to deselect all the 3DxSketchUp options in the plugin menu. Then reselect Toggle Toolbar and the button should come active.

Apparently there is a minor problem with the Ruby script that drives the menu and toolbar.

I hope this saves someone out there a few minutes of troubleshooting time down the road.

Hi JP,

the issue is that with some of the options in the 3DxSketchup menu the center of rotation is already defined in a different way. Thus the button is grayed out. For example: if you activate "Center of Rotation on Selection" the button to select the center of rotation is not active because the center of rotation is the selected object. The button for Center of Rotation is grayed out when you activate one of the following:

• Auto Center of Rotation
  Center of Rotation on Selection
  Camera Mode
