Spacemouse classic USB doesn't work in XP x64

Post by rbloemberg »

We plan to buy new workstations with Windows XP x64, so I've tested if the Solid Edge addins we use work in XP 64 bit. The first (hybrid) combination I tested worked OK:

- Windows XP x64
- Solid Edge v20 32 bit
- Spacemouse Classic USB with 3DxSoftware64 v. 2.8.2 driver

Then I tested a native 64 bits combination:

- Windows XP x64
- Solid Edge v20 64 bit
- Spacemouse Classic USB with 3DxSoftware64 v. 2.8.2 driver

Everything installs OK, the 3DConnexion demo's work but the splash screen/addin/toolbar don't show up in Solid Edge. The spacemouse doesn't work in Solid Edge.

Who can help me out?

The driver is no longer updated or supported.
It had limited XP64 plugins created for the driver.
Solidworks, Unigraphics, and 3DXI were the only plugins created at the time.
The only other plugins are for the 32 bit applications.
