SiInitialize returns with error sometimes

Post by chris_at_csiro »

I am occasionally getting stuck with SiInitialize returning an error and my SpaceExplorer device not working. Once this happens it will continue to happen until I log out and log in to windows again, or by rebooting. I haven't been able to identify what causes this to happen. Once I have logged in again, it all works fine. What can be causing this? Is there a way to reinitialize it without the log-out log-in process?

A bit more on this..... I think that this problem may occur if my program fails with an exception from some other cause. i.e. I have some other programming problem causing the program to exit. From then on, SiInitialize fails every time until I log out and in.
So it seems that it is getting left in some invalid mode.

See if bouncing the 3DxWare driver helps after your application fails.
