SpacePilot pro with Autocad 2009

Post by keesgeerts »

At a customer I'm using the spacepilot pro in combination with Autocad 2009. When I use the controller I can move the drawing but it move realy slow.
Al speed switches are set to the max, with no significant improvement.
What is wrong. I did install the latest driver yesterday without any performance increase.

Make sure your Video drivers are up to date.
Test the device with the demos do they work correctly?
Make sure your plugged directly into a usb port, donot use a hub.
Hub may not provide the necessary watts for the device.

If your running any Spyware or Antivirus software that scans the USB ports try setting up a exception rule to not scan the port you have your device plugged into.

Open the 3DControl panel try increasing the Overall speed by a notch or 2.
This sets the speed for all the Advanced speed settings.

video driver is the most recent
the demo's work
it is directly plugged in a USB port

The overal speed is at the max.
The controller works perfectly with Autodesk inventor. When working in autocad the function keys of the controller are not allocated as well.

I did use the space pilot on the same system and the space pilot did work well.

Try removing the saved button mapping files.
Saved configurations are saved into your %appdata%\3dconnexion\3dxware\profiles directory. They are named userXX.scg with XX starting at 01 and incrementing with each new saved config.

Next remap your buttons.

Thanks Fred.

Removing the mapping files solved the problem. The Space Pilot Pro functions now as it should.
