ProE WF3 M200 wont open 3dxProEngineer

Post by chaseacej »

Our company this morning upgraded to Wildfire 3 M200 and now my spacepilot pro isnt working as it should. Before i would use the protk.dat to point to the 3dxproengineer file and it would work just fine. Now when ProE starts it starts up normally but doesnt load the 3dxproengineer. I have double checked my config file and nothing has changed.

Hi chaseacej,

please run the "Update Wizard" (right click on the 3Dconnexion icon in the system try and select "Update Wizard"). This way the updated application (WF 3 M200) should be updated to the 3D mouse, too.

The Update Wizard does not only update to the latest version, but checks as well if the installations of the plugins are up-to-date.

Please check if the path for the 3DxProE.dll in the used protk.dat points to the correct location. As mentioned in the ReadMe.txt of the 3Dconnexion Plug-In for Pro ENGINEER WF3 "The protk.dat file may need editing.".

I have ran the update wizard and everything is up to date. The protk.dat is pointing to the right location. The plugin worked fine in WF3 M170. It may be something on the company's side not allowing it to start up. I can change the config.pro line to point to a file that doesn't even exist and it won't even give an error.
