Autodesk Inventor - driver keeps stopping

Do you have the old 3DxOffice Plug-in installed?

Not currently.

I did for a while, one of the moderators asked me to try an older version of the software. It did not make a difference, so I uninstalled and went back to the current version.

Currently using driver 6.8.1 and release 3.8.1

currently have installed plug ins for inventor, autocad, acrobat, autocad 09, autocad 2010, sketchup, pictureviewer, acrobat 3d, quicktime vr.
