Spaceball 5000 Sensitivity

Post by andyliberti »

Does anyone know how to increase the speed of the movements on a Spaceball 5000? I have all the sensitivities maxed out and its still really slow. Any ideas?

Open 3Dcontrol panel
Select Device Configuration
Overall speed will increase the movement speed.
If your running Antivirus software, adware software that scans USB ports this can slow down the device. Check the software and see if you can create an exception or you may have to turn off the port scanning on the usb port.
Another thing to try is to click calibrate in the control panel while nothing is touching the device.
click close it calibrates the device behind the scene.

I am using the Spaceball in AutoCAD 2008. I just found out that it is only slow in Model Space. In Paper Space, it acts just fine. Weird...

Try calibrating the 3D device.
Close all apps then open the 3dcontrol panel
Click on calibrate then ok.
Now retry using the device in 3d mode.

Make sure your using a current video driver.
Also check and see if there is any port scan being done on the usb ports.
This can affect performance as well.

Its an ACAD problem because the Spaceball is working in SolidWorks and in Paper Space inside of ACAD...
