Prob. When starting solidworks (appcrash with TDxSW.dll)

Hi,

I'm having problems when I try to start solidworks 2009 sp 4 in Win 7. The error message is the next one. Sorry it is in Spanish.

Before this, it said something like an error on a visual c++ module. I don't write it, but I don't want to close SW now, because I will spend several minutes trying to have it working again.

I can make SW works after trying several times to open it, or by opening a part instead SW itself, but it does not always work. Even with the space navigator connected, and the driver on, it has problems and send me the same exception.

If I keep trying, SW starts, but after an unknown of times that it sends the same error.

I have seen that if I try to open a part, SW send some messages, then, if I try to run it again, after one or two tries, usually it works, but it is not a rule.

Thanks! A least for now, it seems to have solve the problem. I still have to test it without start the driver first, but I had have not problems till now...

Well, after a couple of days of having no problems, the crash is back. I have the same behavior again...

Any idea of what could cause this?

could you please post the very first error message you mentioned? The message with the visual C++ module might help a bit.

Do you see any difference if you unload the plugin for the 3D mouse?

Did you check if the crash still occurs after you completely uninstalled the 3DxSoftware?

Oh! I'm sorry. I'm not in my workstation these days, but I only remember that line.

If I unload the driver or uninstall it completely, I don't have the crash, or at least, I didn't notice it. By the way, may be is not relevant, but this started when I upgrade to Win 7. SW2009 does not work "As Is" and I have been running it in XP SP2 compatibility mode.

I will be able to send the first error message in a couple of days...

the XP mode in Windows 7 is a virtual machine and this is a configuration we are not actively supporting. We know from other virtual machines, that it is possible to use the 3D mouse, but we do not test nor support it.

(2) Supports SolidWorks 2010 SP1 or higher (based on Windows 7 availability).
