SpaceTraveler Availability

Post by kremlinme »

A friend of mine has a SpaceTraveler which I had a chance to use just long enough to realize I wanted one. But I cannot seem to find a way to purchase one. I guess its been replaced by the SpaceNavigator. The main reason I would prefer a SpaceTraveler is that it has more programmable buttons.

Is there still a way to purchase a SpaceTraveler? If not, is there a particular reason that it was discontinued? Are there any plans in the near future to produce a product in that same form factor (small, portable) but with more than 2 buttons?

Much appreciated.

Spacenavigator FN, replaces the SpaceTraveler

Post by Bryan »

Dear kremlinme,

The Space Navigator for Notebooks, the SpaceNavigator FN, has replaced the SpaceTraveler. It also comes with a travel case and has smaller footprint than our regular SpaceNavigator, for great mobility. The SpaceTravelor hasn't been produced for several years now and is now past it's End of Life.

Sincerely,
Bryan G.

Is it a bad idea to get a brand new SpaceTraveler even if I have a really good deal on one? I mean will I have problems using it with Win7 and Snow Leopard or is it exactly the same thing but bigger and with 8 buttons? Can I get the same updates than the SpaceNavigator?

Thank you very much.

The SpaceTaveler is a historic device.

Dear Oli,

No newer drivers will be developed for the SpaceTaveler. It is a historic device and is only useful for historic use. Historic Applications, historic operating systems, historic drivers, and historic plug-ins. It is no longer being supported.

Sincerely,
Bryan g.
