Magellan Space Mouse

I have an old LogiCad3D Magellan/Space Mouse Plus serial
Having trouble getting it to work with UG NX5
Down loaded 3DxSoftware_v2-8-2
Copied files to the proper directories.
Set the system variables, but don't know how to set the variable in UG since it does not use ugii_env.dat any more.
Any help appreciated.

NX5 does not use the ugii_env.dat? Hm, thats new for me.

You can set environment variables in your system. Use Start -> Control Panel -> System. In the "System Properties" open the tab "Advanced". At the bottom you find a button "Environment Variables".

My mistake I found the ugii_env.dat file.
If I am correct, it is either use that file OR set the environment variable?
In reading the readme.txt file that came with 2.8.2 software, it says to make sure the 3DxWare/xdriver is running.
I see no evidence of that.
How do I know if it is running? How does it get started?

Normally the installation makes an entry in your Startup folder and the driver starts when you log in. If it is running you can see the 3Dconnexion logo in your system tray at the bottom of your desktop right near the system clock.

Perhaps the problem is that I am trying to install into Win Vista.
When I installed it, I got a message that it may not install correctly for NX and it did not put a driver in the startup folder.
Is there some way to get the driver and manually place it in the folder?
