ProEngineer WF4 M140 Hangs on window change

Post by Dennis »

I've seen this topic being discussed before in WF2, but I still have this issue in Wildfire 4 M140.

I'm using the SpacePilot Pro, running driver v3-10-1_r852 on XP32bit.

Whenever I change window, part/part or Assy/part, it hangs for 5-10 seconds. If I disable the driver the problem disappears.

This is extreme annoying, since flipping back and forth parts are done very often.

How can I fix this?

Hi Dennis,

for the SpacePilot PRO there is the Professional Applet that calculates properties like the mass volume and the material density. This might take some time if you are working with large models. You can disable this in the LCD Manager (open the 3Dconnexion control panel and go to the tab "SpacePilot PRO LCD", press "Launch LCD Manager"). In the LCD Manager select on the left side "Programs". You will see a list of the programs and this should include an entry for your Wildfire (e.g. "Wildfire 4.0"). Disable it and see if the performance is better.

This has already been disabled to no effect!
Still hangs everytime I switch window, even on simple parts.

Do you have Intralink 3.4 ?

I have Intralink and the same problem.
Closing Intralink or stopping the Pilot driver stops the problem.
I need intralink so I had to revert to the driver that shipped with my Pilot
That driver does not provide the intuitive LCD interface.
Such a pity for an expensive mouse.

We're using PDMLink 9.1, but this has no effect on the switching problem.

I would also like to switch back to the old driver, only problem is that I've lost the CD and the old drivers cannot be found on their website.

Do you know where it can be found?
