Win7 and XP Mode issues with unseen USB SpacePilot

Hi
Does anyone here use Win XPMode with their install of Win7?

I find that the Space Pilot or Navigator is not seen by the XP Mode system so does not appear in the USB pull down menu. The driver will not start as the system says it cannot find a suitable device. So the applications will not see it either.

Does anyone have a work around for this situation?

3Dconnexion cannot provide official support for virtual machines.

Windows XP Mode and Virtual PC do not support the redirection of HID -class peripherals (game controllers, keyboards, mice, steering wheels, keypads, etc). 3Dconnexion are "HID multi-axis controllers".

The limitation is part of Virtual PC and it is by design. Only Microsoft can fix this.

From what we know, there appears to be two workarounds:

1) Use an USB-over-IP redirection tool
There are software solutions that redirect a USB device over a network connection. These should work between the Win7 host and the XP client.

2) Use a different virtualization tool
Skip Windows XP Mode / Virtual PC and use a different product. Alternatives to Virtual PC with full USB redirection (or "pass-through") are available.

Thanks for the suggestions. I shall follow them up.

I already knew that there was no official support for this, but had wanted to find if any workarounds were available.
