Does any body have any problems with channels that are driven, locked, or constrained when manipulating objects in Maya 2011? Whenever I use the SpacePilot to move/rotate and object, the object FLIES away in space when I let go of the mouse. ....?
So far I've been able to integrate the SpacePilot Pro into my workflow pretty well after only a day of use, but this is a show stopper; character rigs are FILLED with driven/constrained/locked channels.
Anyone have a fix for this?

Locked/Driven/Constrained Channels in Maya
Is this the type of object flying away you are seeing ?
After I posted this I sat and thought about it and realized that what is happening is really quite easy to understand. I am quite familiar with the intricacies of animating constraints and character rigging and animation, and so it didn't dawn on me that if I have everything set up correctly, the SpacePilot could be inputting values wrongly.
You are correct, I think, Barbara. Something about the way the 3Dmouse inputs values supercedes/precedes locked and constrained channels, ergo when the input "session" is done, it tries to dial those values back onto the object with disastrous results.
This product was demo'd at Siggraph, and I recieved a demonstration from an ANIMATOR who 3DC had hired to show off the product. Of course, all that we were moving around was a torus with no rig. If indeed this product is completely incompatible with Maya rigs, I will be extremely pissed.

p.s.
I sent a support email, and received a response, and will now do the dance of sending logs and whatnot. However, this is a very simple question that I think anybody with detailed knowledge of the input type of the 3D mouse can answer; do constrained/locked/driven channels get messed up with the SpacePilot, or not!?!?

If anybody with Maya could open this file and try to move any of the circular controls and tell me if it is happening to them too, I would great appreciate it.

It's 2011 but you should be able to open it by checking "ignore version" in anything after 2008.

Hi Kennyroy,
I tried the file and could not pan. But this was because the option "Fly Mode" in the 3Dconnexion panel was disabled. What are your settings in the panel (press the Menu button on the SpacePilot PRO)?
