Solidworks 2011 problem HELP!

The buttons on my spacepilot does not work on solidworks 2011 sp0, what is wrong?

It didn't work during 2011 beta & 3DConnexion didn't want to listen since it wasn't released yet. I would assume that it's going to take 3dConnexion a couple weeks to get the driver figured out for SW2011. The only way that you can get it to work as it is now is to custom map buttons using the Solidworks hotkeys (if you have any) and the Custom Functions button area in your 3DConnexion Control panel to create the macro BUT you will have to remap the buttons every time you restart 2011 which is a real pain. So the real question is WHY DIDN'T 3DCONNEXION LISTEN WHEN I REPORTED THIS 2 MONTHS AGO

which driver version are you using? Did you try our beta software from our 3DxLabs site? See here.

Same issue here at AMETEK. I have users on SWx11,now with the Beta driver from the link above and it DID NOT fix the problem(s).

We are on SP0 and XP32. Most of my users assign SWx views to the buttons and are finding that there controller are not working. So I opened the 3DC software and found that the button boxes came up blank with the old driver.

The new driver/software launches and has items available in the drop downs available for assignment (but not views???), but the buttons still do not work in SWx. When you close SWx and Open the 3DC software the boxes are blank as with the non-Beta software.

Worse yet, when you assign a custom map (i.e. CTRL+5) to a button, and switch to SWx, it will work the first time you open SWx. But close SWx and then open it again and the custom maps disappear.

I have lost a days researching this and need to find another solution. Or another design tool that is ready for our software updates.

thanks for the feedback. We are aware about this issue and are working on a solution. The fix will be available in 3DxSoftware 3.12 Public Release. Please check from time to time our download site for the new release.

Hey Guys,

I think I am on to something here.....where are the config files stored? In other words, when a user creates a custom map, where does that file get saved?

I had one of my users manually uninstall all of his 3DC software, reboot and install the beta. I then had him reboot again and open SWx. It appeared at first to work at first until we found that it started pulling his custom config from the non beta software. So, I wondered if I could delete that file manually because everything appears to work otherwise.

I have checked the link you provided for the BETA software and did not find the 64BIT drivers for the Space Pilot software that supports Solidworks 2011. Please let me know where I can find that. Thanks.

I found and installed the new 3.12 drivers for Spacepilot PRO for win 7 x64.

Ran Solidworks 2011 and now there is a new problem. The knob works, but the VIEWS buttons do not - at least not all of them. The TOP, FRONT, and RIGHT buttons do not work. Please see my video and let me know if I am doing anything wrong. Thanks.

I am honestly saddened that your company makes VERY high quality and extremely great products - BUT - always, always, always lacks on something so simple as drivers for the hardware.

I mean how hard can it be to update drivers for a hardware glorified mouse in a timely manner so that we can use our products on the new software?

And the lack of MAC support for the Spacepilot is plain insane. Macs have been around for a long time and they are VERY popular - how can you guys deprive us of using SP on them?!

I would love to work in an industry where such poor customer support was this acceptable. My days would be so much easier. Especially now where my customers, the engineers who rely on your product, can not use it and I need to find them a solution.

I just upgraded from Solidworks 2010 to 2011 and have so far wasted a day trying to get my explorer USB to work with it. I just logged a call with support and then found this via google.

This is literally KILLING our companies productivity - Please give me a day and date when the new driver will become available as I may have no option but to downgrade to Solidworks 2010 until that time - wasting yet more of my time.

I have experienced all of the problems above, plus one more it seems has not been documented by others - the PAN function also does not seem to work.

PLEASE HELP US TO USE THE TOOL WE BOUGHT FROM YOU WITH THE SOFTWARE YOU SAY IT IS COMPATIBLE WITH.
