SN not working in ProE WF4

Post by Martinakerman »

Hi!

As of yesterday my Space Navigator stoped working in ProE. The protk.dat is att the right place and I can access the 3Dx menues from within ProE.

The blue led shines, SN works fine in Google Earth and other apps. So the problem is only in ProE

Runs W7 64, ProE WF4

Rebooted and reinstalled both 3Dx Drivers and ProE but still no luck.

Any ideas?

Managed to identify that the problems started with the installation of Windows Hotfix KB983620 if that can help solving the issue

SN not working in ProE WF4

Hello Martin -

While we have not identified a problem connected to the hotfix, it is possible it may have changed something in the registry.Permissions sometimes revert after updates. You can try adding an extra admin permission for 3dxsrv.exe and checking that there is a firewall exception for it.
1.) Close all applications
2.) Stop the 3D Mouse driver
3.) Right-click 3dxsrv.exe - Select the Compatibility tab and
only check the 'Run as administrator' option
4.) Add the 3dxsrv.exe file to Windows Firewall or your security/firewall application as an allowed program

The default location of 3dxsrve.exe is C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware\3DxWare\3dxsrv.exe

If needed, you can use the Clean Install steps. This is different than uninstalling/reinstalling the 3dconnexion software, since it also removes 3Dconnexion registry keys and profiles. If something has changed in the registry that is preventing 3DxProEngineer from loading, the clean install steps should correct it.

Thanks Barbara!

You have given me the best Christmas gift ever :D (almost)

Trying to work without the 3D-mouse is as easy as trying to write without a keyboard

Best Regards
