Spacenavigator not working-Win 7 64 bit

Post by gavinfla »

I tried using my spacenavigator with my new Dell Precision M6500 (Win7-64bit) it works fine with google earth so I know the updated driver works okay. But in 3d max 8 it doesn't work nor does not even show up in utilitys. In Solidworks in loads the Add-ins an it shows up on my menu bar an momentary lights up and becomes grayed out once the program finishes loading. It doesn't function. :(
Would like too hear from anyone experiencing the same issue or help with this issue
Thanks & best wishes for holidays

AutoDesk's 3DS MAX versions 9 thru 2011

Post by Bryan »

Dear gavinfla,

What release version do you read in the 'About' Item under the 'Help' Menu in the '3Dconnexion Control Panel'?

Only AutoDesk's 3DS MAX versions 9 thru 2011 make use of our navigation devices.

What version of SolidWorks are you using?

What kind of response do you find in our Jet Demo?
(Start > All Programs > 3Dconnexion > Demos)

Sincerely,
Bryan
The more things change, the more they remain the same. ; ^ )

Hi Bryan, thanks for responding, after I did a clean un-install and re-install the release ver. 3.12.2, driver ver. 6.12.0 and firmware ver. 3.18, 64 bit 3Dconnexion driver I elected to customize the install and saw that only 3d max9 is supported and I am using SW 2007 32bit version.
I think I am out of luck.
Cheers.

In the Jet Demo the spacenavigator work fine, I opened Photoshop CS5 after my last post reply and it asked me to create a hotkey for my 3d mouse, which I was not getting before. So I guess the clean un-install did some good. So unfortunately for SW2007 & 3d Max8 it will have to resort to the old fashion way.

Cheers, and happy holiday
