Hi,
I have just completed a clean install of WinXp Pro x64 Edition SP2, (I have Solid Edge ST3 installed) Downloaded the latest driver/suite 3DxSoftware_v3-7-22 for my old Space Traveller and installed.
First issue was when installing the 3DXware there was a message requesting to check the 3DConnextion website for a later or updated version. There apparently was, the message read; A later version of the driver IS available, please update..... So I attempted this as advised, I logged into MY3DX account/membership, the one I had to create to obtain the driver package in the first place. The Driver package was identical....
Anyway, completed the install ... Nothing.. The Driver does not load, the 3DXWare does not Run!! This is the first time I have had an install fail for this device.
When attempting to start the driver, nothing, when attempting to stop the driver, its states the obvious, No Driver Loaded.
The device is working perfectly as I have installed it on a another machine with WinXP 32 running, so it is not the device itself..
When firing up SE ST3 it recognised the presence of my Space Traveller, but with a dimmed out UI/panel, therefore seeing that the device was present, but not functional.
WinXP sees the device, tries to go through the routine of loading the drivers when it is first plugged in, which I have explored both options, neither work!
I have searched the system device manager, uninstalled the device labelled as not working, named Space Traveller USB and attempted other routes of installation..
Nothing is working.. Baffled..
Please help..
Many Thanks
Simon
Space Traveller WINXP 64 - 3DXware installs but NO Driver??

Simon,
your SpaceTraveler is a legacy device (see here) and the driver is not further developed. Solid Edge ST3 is too new for the SpaceTraveler driver. You need one of our latest models to use with ST3.

Hi Uludwig,
Thank you for your response, but the issue is not ST3, I do understand that the Space Traveller may not work with ST3 but the concern is Win XP x64
I am naturally aware that the product is now classed as a legacy device, however, my understanding, excluding the application SE ST3 is that the driver package is designed for/compatible with Win XP x64, accordingly should install on this OS.
It refuses to do so.
I have since loaded an older version of SE (V18) and this has had no effect.
The issue is not ST3 the issue is Win XP x64 for which the driver package is designed for according to your package download description.
I look forward to your comments

Hi omzero,
if the re-installation after the clean install doesn't work please try it again with generating log files those might help us to find the cause of the problem. Please see here how to generate log files during the installation. If you have the log files please post here so we can give you an email address where to send them.
