Hi

I know how to navigate in google sketchup with the space pilot. what I CANNOT do so far is manipulate and rotate a selected object while the scene itself remains static. I wnt to be able to move and place objects in sketchup with my sppace pilot. how do I do this?

any help greatly appreciated.

rotating and manipulating actual objects in google sketchup

Hi desertfilm

In Goolge Sketchup you can't do that. You can rotate the whole scene, but unfortunately not a single object while leaving the scene as it was before...

This is however possible in many other applications: SolidEdge, SolidWorks, 3DStudio Max and many more...

To be clear: In SketchUp, you can manipulate an object separate from its scene. It is just that 3dconnexion has not seen fit to make their interface let you use their 3d controllers for this in SketchUp.

Since SketchUp appears to be the only free software 3dconnexion supports at all, it would be nice if they'd make their interface work in the program for this, which almost the only point of having the device.
