SpacePilot Crashing Solidworks

Post by dbaldrica »

Upgraded to solidworks 2011,

Small assemblies are fine, however when selecting a part and rolling the SpacePilot puck (rotating only the selected part in the assy), solidworks will always crash. Smaller assemblies are fine though.

Worked fine on Windows 7 64 bit, Solidworks 2010 Pro 64bit

Has a full driver pack been released for Solidworks 2011? The release notes state 2010 but that was in Nov. 2010.

Windows 7 64 bit
Solidworks 2011 Pro 64bit
SpacePilot Release Ver. 3.12.2
SpacePilot Driver Ver. 6.12.0
Firmware Ver. 3.12

SpacePilot Crashing Solidworks

Hello dbaldrica -

The current software includes full support for SolidWorks 2011.
Release Notes from Rel 3.12.2 mention 'Added support for Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks 2011'

To resolve possble problems from data corruption in the assembly profile or a registry key that could cause this type of problem you can use the Clean Install steps. The standard uninstall/reinstall of the 3dconnexion software does not remove these elements.

Make sure the calibration is correct by clicking the Calibrate button in the 3DconnexionControl Panel without touching the SpacePilot cap. Also you will want to check that you are using the latest release for your video card driver.

If you are still seeing crashes you can turn on logging in the 3Dconnexion Control Panel using Tools-Write Log File to generate a log our engineers can examine. Post here again if you have a log file and I will send you a PM with an email address for it.

Thanks Barbara,

The clean install solved pretty much all my issues. Thanks for the help.
