Space Pilot Pro not workingin Max 2011

Post by Bumper »

Hey all. While I have had no problem using my SPP on Max 2010, 2011 is not working. No movement in 2011 and no recognition of 2011 within the control panel. I have tried the stop/start driver technique found in the following thread to no avail:

http://www.3dconnexion.jp/forum/viewtop ... highlight=

My next step I guess would be doing a reinstall. I've tried a "modify" with the installer to no effect.

I REALLY don't want to re-install as re-assigning my settings is such a royal pain in the keister. come on 3DConnexion, when are we going to get an import/export settings option?!?

Thank you for your time

Space Pilot Pro not working in Max 2011

Hello Bumper -

The 3Dconnexion plug-in for 3DsMax 2011 is only included in the current Release 3.12.2 software. You can check your driver release in the 3Dconnexion Control Panel under Help|About and download the newer version if needed.

The Modify /Repair function should add the 3DsMax plug-in as long as you are using the Rel. 3.12.2 software and 3DsMax is closed during the process. If not, there are manual steps you can use:

Copy the "3dxstd.dlu" file from C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware\3DxStudio64\x64\3Ds Max 2011 to the "stdplugs" sub-directory of 3Ds Max.

Copy "3DxStudio.ms" from C:\Program Files\3Dconnexion\3Dconnexion 3DxSoftware\3DxStudio64 to the scriptsstartup sub-directory of 3Ds Max.

With the plug-in installed you should see the 3ds Max Pop-Up Menu when you press the Menu button on the SpacePilotPRO - the manual has a screenshot. [Start, Programs,3Dconnexion,Documentation - Manuals - English Manual - Supported Applications - Autodesk 3ds Max]

In the event that your version of 3Ds Max was installed as administrator, you would need to add "Run as Administrator" to the 3Dx driver as listed in the last thread of the forum post [on Pg 2] you linked to.
